Privacy Policy

Footing is built around one promise: your number is yours. This page explains, in plain terms, what we hold, who can see it, and how to make us delete it.
Footing is operated by Anchor Venture Partners LLC ("Footing", "we"). If any of this is unclear, email hello@getfooting.io and a person will answer.
The short version. We hold your phone number, your name, which pods you are in, and whether you checked in. Your target amount is private to you. We never connect to your bank. We do not sell anything to anyone. Reply STOP to any text and the texts end.
What we collect

What we never collect
- Anything from your bank. Footing does not link accounts, read balances, or see transactions. There is nothing to connect, so there is nothing to leak. Every figure in Footing is one you typed yourself.
- Your location. We read a time zone, not a place.
- Your contacts. Invites are links you send yourself. We never read an address book.
- Advertising identifiers. No ad trackers, no pixels, no data brokers.
What your pod can see
Other people in your pod see your name, your streak, and whether you checked in.
They never see your target amount, how much you have put aside, or your phone number. That separation is enforced in the database itself, not just hidden in the app.
Who else touches your data
Three service providers, each doing one job under contract, none permitted to use your data for their own purposes:
- Twilio — delivers the text messages. Receives your phone number and the content of those messages.
- Supabase — hosts the database.
- Vercel — hosts the website.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We would disclose data if legally compelled — a subpoena or court order — and we will tell you if we are permitted to.
How long we keep it
Your account data stays while your account is open. Ask us to delete it and we delete it, along with your check-in history, within 30 days. Server logs roll off after about 90 days.
Your choices
- Stop the texts. Reply STOP to any message. You stay in your pod; the texts end.
- Get a copy, or be deleted. Email hello@getfooting.io. We reply within 30 days.
- Correct something. Same address.
If you live in California, you have the right to know what we hold, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, and not to be treated worse for asking. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under California law.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is restricted by row-level rules that keep one person's private figures out of another person's queries. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Age
Footing is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with your data, we will tell you before it takes effect.
